As in all shooting sports, safety is our primary concern,
First, we will implement the NRA F-Class rules regarding rests and ammunition. This will standardize our match rules with the NRA's and hopefully answer any questions on what type rests or calibers are allowed. The only effect this would have on the rifles we're already using would be to categorize them into either Open (O) or Target Rifle (TR) classes. A standard chambered .223 or .308 shot off a bi-pod would be in the TR class while everything else would go in the Open class. By far, the rifles that are normally used (5.5mm, 6mm, 7mm and 8mm shot off a rest) will be in the Open class. Both classes are allowed to use rear rests. See Rules attachment.
Small Bore rifles (.17 and .22LR) will shoot Open class. These two calibers will be in separate classes.
The second item is to partially revise the prize money payout schedule based on the number of participants:
Number of shooters in class: 1 thru 7: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pays: 50%, 30% and 20% of the prize fund. Only three in class would still pay 1st, 2nd and 3rd based on the above split, two in class would pay a 60%-40% split and a single shooter in class would return his prize entry fund (a wash).
Number of shooters in class: 8 and over will pay: 1st and 2nd "A" class and 1st and 2nd "B" class based on a Lewis system split. 35%--25% of the prize money for "A" and 25%--15% of the prize money for "B".
Other than these two items, the match remains the same- 3pm, Work Bee Sunday, six reduced varmint silhouettes with five shots per target for a total of thirty rounds for score and unlimited sighters. Time allowed is an hour. Match fee is $8 ($6 goes into the prize fund and $2 goes for targets) plus applicable range and additional target fees.
